Slow Foods at Colorado State University

Slow Foods at Colorado State University

About

A conscience community of students and Fort Collins residents who come together to celebrate the beauty of clean, fair and local food. Join us at the table!

We are food lovers! We take pride in knowing where our food comes from, and being able to enjoy it with others. This club is based on making food, eating food, and participating in foodie events and services! We typically have our meetings centered around beans and their cultural significance. We will be doing activities like potluck dinners, farm workdays, food events, farmers markets, school gardens, cooking & gardening workshops, etc. We are an organization of fun friends and food. We are open to ideas for events and campaigns that align with the vision of Slow Foods.

Community Outreach

We have begun to share our love of community and beans with the Fort Collins residents through food distribution.

Legume Education

Beans are a foundation of many cultures because of their fiber and protein levels. Additionally, they are a natural source of nutrients for other plants, through creating Nitrogen in the soil. We strive to educate the public about the benefits of legumes and their usefulness to our community.
